BRATISLAVA, May 25 (Xinhua) -- 2020 IIHF Ice Hockey World U18 Championship Division II Group B will be held in northern China's Tianjin city on March 21 to 27, 2020, according to Chinese Ice Hockey Association.

The 2019 IIHF Annual Congress, held from May 23 to 25 in Bratislava, Slovakia, announced the results. Tianjin received a clear majority of the votes during the selection process. Zagreb, Tianjin's nearest rival only received six votes compared to Tianjin's 15.

It will be the second time China has hosted an IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship event, following on them the success of Beijing in hosting the 2019 IIHF Women's World Championship Division I Group B.

In 2019 IIHF Ice Hockey World U18 Championship Division II Group B ended in April this year. Despite winning four games and only losing one, China finished as runners up with the total points of 12, achieving their best results since 2007.
