PRAGUE, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- About 30 people were injured after a bus carrying students overturned in the Moravian-Silesian region of northeastern Czech Republic on Monday, police and rescuers said.
The accident happened in the morning in Stare Hamry. Regional fire rescue officials said all 32 students on the bus were injured. Citing rescuers, Czech Television reported that two adults were also hurt. It said most of the injuries were minor to moderate and no lives were at risk. Four of the injured have been transported to hospital.
Police said the bus, bound for a ski resort, veered off the road, struck an electric pole and overturned on its side. A technical malfunction is being considered as a possible cause, and the accident is now under investigation as a general endangerment due to negligence.
Local media reported that the high school students were from the regional capital, Ostrava. ■
